It came to me all the way from Chicago thanks to the visiting mon of a friend.
I have consumed the cookie.
Delicious.
Now I sit on friend’s couch, unable to move. The sugar crash is here as well as possibly diabetes.

Today was rather indulgent.
A beautiful lunch at Jackie’s Cafe in Paddington. Edamame, lemon ricotta bruscheta, and the yummiest pumpkin ravioli I have ever eaten.
Then dinner at The Winery in Surry Hills. Stuffed roasted mushrooms, goats cheese gnocchi with braised lamb shanks (only the second time I’ve had lamb), white wine sangria, a peach boozy pop, and my very favorite Giggly Rose.
Delicious.

I’ve already eaten a third of these. (They’re mini cupcakes- let’s not start believing I ate 4 regular sized cupcakes in 1 sitting. Although I would not put that past me.)

Melbourne Cup 2011
I had a lovely time at The Argyle. Some nice wine and good company, great music, and of course, the race!
As I am told it is un-Australian to not place a bet and seeing as how I’m living here for a year longer, I placed a bet. Thank you to the nice man at the Tab betting machine thing for explaining everything to me.
Unfortunately, I didn’t win. Oh, Americain.
Next year, if I’m wearing a funny hat, you’ll know I’ve gone completely Australian.
