Winter
You arrived today, the 1st of June. We did not get much of a summer and fall was quite wet. But you’re here, and there’s nothing I can do about it.
While the rest of the world gets into their bikinis, the southern hemisphere begins to layer.
I wasn’t ready for you this year and thanks to a brand new heater purchased yesterday not working, I’m not ready for you this year....

Where can I get this top?
“Stranger” Jhené Aiko
I’m finding this song on the haunting side. Perhaps because she questions whether or not she’s met someone who she just seems to know.
Maybe it’s because the video is purposefully blurry - cinematography people, help me out if you know this term.

I also really like her top. I’m going to hunt for a similar top so that come...

Grimes "Oblivion"
“Oblivion” - Grimes
What is it about that music video that I like so much?
Is it the football shots?
Is it Grimes is living out my childhood dream of dancing and singing around sporting events- not on stage, just running through stands. Think of the freedom. Literally dancing around to her own song and because of the headphones, in her own world really. I admit I did similar things as a young...

Today's Favorite Email
It is nearly 6pm, quitting time for me, but I am hanging back until the scary yelling outside stops. I’m worried I’ll walk into something I don’t want to walk into if I don’t.
As trying as work can be, there are always great people out there who make your work life easier.
Sometimes they even send you emails that make you laugh for minutes at a time. Anything to get you...

Hump Day Positives/To Do List
It’s important to set small reachable goals as well reasons why you don’t want to quit your job, abandon your belongings, and move to a small island and learn how to fish- it makes life easier to enjoy.
1. Finish prop for client.
2. It’s a beautiful day, so I took advantage of it and walked to the other of the city for my client meeting.
3. Master sock bun.
4. Pilates...

Soup Success
Remember when I wanted to find a good red lentil soup recipe ?
I did it.
Well, really this is an input of about 17 different recipes that I perused. The final ingredient count consisted of whatever I had in the pantry.
Simple and very warming. With winter now here, I’ll have to make it more often.

Melbourne with Lisa
I spent last weekend wandering the streets of Melbourne with my friend, Lisa. Having not seen her in over 3 months, it was so wonderful to catch up. With the weather sunny and clear, we walked until we could walk no more and most importantly, ate our way through the city.
I managed to get us on the wrong mode of transportation and instead of St. Kilda, we ended up wandering South Yarra. What do...

This is not an April Fool’s joke.
It’s my last night in Darlinghurst in the most conveniently located apartment ever. Happy camper I am not.
Help.

Post Super Bowl and Draft Day
NFL Draft 2012 begins April 26th.
Until April 26th gets here, I will not be discussing football.
I’m not bitter.
Just a little salty.

Shoe Lust Sunday
In today’s busy world, it’s important to take some time for yourself.
Enter Sunday.
I like to set aside an hour to browse shoes.
Sexy and playful, today it’s Nicholas Kirkwood’s Pre-Fall 2012’s turn to raise my temperature.
Double D’Orsay Suede Shoe
Frill Suede Pump
Ric Rac Open Toe Bootie

Anna Sui x Tumi
I can always count on a fun runway show from Anna Sui and her Spring 2012 Ready To Wear show did not disappoint. With a very sleek and bold color palette to bring out the early 70’s in all of us- even if we weren’t alive then, Anna Sui brings us vintage reinvented.
Due to my strange fascination with luggage and my desire to own every piece even though I have no actual home to store it...

Thrilled doesn’t come close to describing how I feel today.
Thanks to the wonderful world that is work, I’m going to see the incredible Erykah Badu at my first ever music show at the Sydney Opera House!
My boss laughed and pointed out that the second I found out I’d be getting a pass, I began hyperventilating.
So much for playing it cool.
I’m still working on trying...

Still Faithful
A heartbreaking loss was suffered by all 49er faithful in today’s game against the New York Giants.
I’m pretty sure I said no more than 5 words the 2 hours after the lost. I looked grief stricken to all who happened to be at the pub.
It sucks. My heart feels like it’s been ripped out of my chest. T-H-I-S close to a Super Bowl and it slips out of our fingers.
But, as my brand...

SOPA and PIPA
I was blissfully unaware of the legislation going through the House and Senate back in my home country until last night when I tried to go onto Wikipedia to try and teach myself cricket.
You see. It’s cricket season here in Australia and while I tried to learn about it last year and failed miserably, I’m determined to not suffer the same fate this season.
So I went to Wikipedia...

Australian Hip Hop
I’m being educated because most of everything I’ve listened to thus far has been not so good.
Drapht - Jimmy Recard
Drapht proposes a great question- If I had a different name, would my life be different?
I often wonder what could have been different if my Mom had named me what she really wanted to name me and wasn’t such a pushover and let other people choose my name. Good...
